Anthony Peters, market strategist at Sol Capital Group
Anthony is from Manchester but was educated in Germany and Switzerland before taking a degree in History and Politics in his home town. He trained in banking in Zurich. Since 1987 he has been back in the City where he worked in fixed income sales. From 2008 until 2015 he was with SwissInvest from where he serviced his institutional clients and provided commentary on markets. He joined Sol Capital Markets as head of strategy in 2016.
The Dow traded in a 140-point range on Thursday and still ended up closing a mere 4.72 points from where it had started.
The end of the world as we know it has not taken place and after the sharp sell-off of risk assets in the US on Tuesday and in large parts of the rest of the world on Wednesday the great follow-through failed to emerge.
There has always been some truth in the old rule that the time to start selling is when the bears begin to get bullish.
