Carlos Stilianopoulos - Caja Madrid

Carlos joined Banco Espanol de Credito (Banesto) in 1990 and was head of Eurobond trading until 1993. He then joined Santander Investment, taking responsibility for origination and primary trading, also overseeing senior funding for Banco Santander between 1993 and 1995. In 1998, he joined Caja Madrid as head of origination and syndication, responsible for all bond, loan and equity origination and syndication for the bank. Since November 2000, he has been head of the capital markets division, in charge of origination, distribution, derivatives trading and the bank’s securitisation business. He is also in charge of funding.

Dr Claudia Vortmueller - Commerzbank

As a senior structured finance research analyst, Claudia is responsible for European covered bond research at Commerzbank Corporates & Markets. Prior to her current position, she worked at Barclays Capital in European covered bond origination. This followed a position at DEPFA Deutsche Pfandbrief Bank, where she was a member of the bank’s funding team. Claudia holds a PhD in Finance.

Vincent Digby - Bank of Ireland

Vincent was appointed as head of funding (Bank of Ireland Global Markets) in April of 2003 and manages all of Bank of Ireland’s senior debt funding programmes, both secured and unsecured. He joined Bank of Ireland Global Markets as a trader in 1993, and has headed up the US dollar, sterling and euro desks. Since then, he has been involved in all facets of bond, interest rate derivative and foreign exchange risk management within the bank. Previously, Vincent worked for five years at Irish Intercontinental Bank. He is a graduate of Dublin University.

Ivan Comerma - Caixa Catalunya

Ivan is head of fixed-income in the capital markets division and treasury at Caixa Catalunya in Barcelona. He joined in 1998 and was part of the equity & derivatives proprietary account for three years before he was appointed to take care of the fixed-income portfolio. He also takes an active role in the origination and primary trading of all the funding products that Caixa Catalunya currently offers in the debt capital markets, particularly the senior, securitisation and covered bond programmes.

Jose Sarafana - Societe Generale

Jose Sarafana joined Societe Generale in 2004 and holds the position of senior bond analyst for Covered Bonds. He is responsible for all aspects of jumbo covered bond coverage, including the credit analysis of issuers, cover pools of bonds and legal frameworks of countries where covered bonds are issued. Jose Sarafana holds a BA in Economics from the University of Essex and he obtained his Lizentiat in Business Administration from Universite de Fribourg.

Dr Tammo Diemer - Aareal Bank

Tammo Diemer is head of capital markets at Aareal Bank based in Wiesbaden. He is responsible for all fixed-income related capital markets activities. Before joining Aareal Bank in 2001, he was part of DEPFA Bank’s capital markets team. He holds a PhD in mathematics.
