A former senior banker from Citigroup is claiming he was unfairly dismissed and is suing the US bank in London for age discrimination, according to court documents.

Gilles Graham, who was chairman of Citigroup’s financial institutions group, has filed the claim at the East London employment tribunal, a court filing showed on Wednesday. It said the hearing will be held on December 12.

Graham is claiming unfair dismissal and discrimination or victimisation on the grounds of age, according to the court filing. He is also claiming to have suffered a detriment, discrimination and/or dismissal on grounds of disability or failure of his employer to make reasonable adjustments.

Citigroup declined to comment. Graham could not immediately be reached.

Graham left Citigroup earlier this year. He was at the bank for six years and advised TSB on its takeover by Spain’s Sabadell and the London Stock Exchange on its purchase of LCH.Clearnet, among others. He joined from Nomura in 2010, and before that worked at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley.
