IFR Awards dinner raises £1.22m for Save the Children

The IFR Awards dinner on January 27 raised £1.22m for Save the Children with the banking community once again pledging large sums in support of the charity. Bank of the Year UBS and UBS Optimus Foundation together donated a record £800,000 to be named bookrunner.

Jonny Gould returned to host the tombstone for the fifth successive year and was joined once again by Myleene Klass. Dara O Briain hosted the awards and provided the entertainment.

HRH The Princess Royal, president of Save the Children, was unable to attend this year’s dinner so sent a video message to attendees, which was introduced by Sir Alan Parker, chairman of Save the Children International.

Andrea Orcel, president of UBS investment bank, accepted the Bank of the Year award from Matthew Davies, editor of IFR, and Keith Mullin, IFR’s editor-at-large.
