IFR Fantasy Football League: Dutch Glory wins on the final day

After flirting with the top prize over the past few years, Albert de Waard and his Dutch Glory side finally surged past his Netherlands-based colleagues to give him a first IFRFFL crown in a nail-biting finale.

Once again the Dutch contingent led the overall global field, with two past winners from the Kempen & Co victory machine having to settle for second and third, and yet another Kempen colleague placing fourth.

The final GameWeek total of 45 points for De Waard (who has recently moved to RTL Nederland) pipped second-place Thomas van den Born by four points, leading to an overall victory of just three points for the season.

De Waard’s team selection in the final week included Leicester’s Jamie Vardy whose goal on Sunday looked to be all De Waard needed to win.

The IFR in-house title went to our Sydney-based scribe John Weavers whose Duncan Disorderly finished a respectable sixth overall.

Congratulations and well done to all who played this season in what was again, most certainly, the most competitive fantasy sports league in the global financial world.
