P&M: Goldman's hedge fund group chief exits
Goldman Sachs’ hedge fund industry group head, C. Howard Wietschner, is retiring after 18 years. Wietschner joined Goldman in 1994 in convertible sales after briefly practising law at Weil Gotshal. He was named managing director and co-head of Goldman’s US convertibles desk and head of relative value sales and trading in 2000. He was made a partner in 2002 and in 2007 played a key role in the formation of the hedge fund group, according to a memo obtained by Reuters.
