P&M: Nomura adds to European FIG DCM with Barclays hire

Quick read
Helene Durand,

Nomura has hired Claire Bussiere from Barclays Capital to work in its financial institutions group debt capital markets (DCM) business.

Bussiere resigned from Barclays Capital this week and will join Nomura after her gardening leave. At Barclays, she looked after FIG DCM for France and the Benelux.

Nomura has been rebuilding its FIG franchise since the beginning of the year. It hired veteran FIG banker Siddharth Prasad in January as head of EMEA FIG global finance.

At the time, he told IFR that the Japanese bank would be rebuilding the team.

“The FIG capital markets business is currently not as large as management would like it to be and is going through a rebuilding phase,” he said at the time. “The opportunity to rebuild this effort presents an interesting challenge and opportunity.”
