Benoit Coeuré - Agence France Trésor

Benoit Coeuré took up his position as deputy chief executive of Agence France Trésor, the debt management office of the French Republic, in June 2002. Coeuré was previously chief economic adviser to the permanent head of France’s treasury before being appointed head of foreign exchange and economic policy, in charge of G7 and European macro policy co-ordination. Coeuré is also a professor of macroeconomics and economic policy at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, and a member of the board of Caisse d’Amortissement de la Dette Sociale (CADES).

David Millar - Scottish Widows Investment Partnership

David Millar is head of bond strategy for global bonds and economics at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP). Millar joined SWIP’s global bonds and economics desk in 1995 as a fixed-income fund manager and was appointed deputy head of bonds in December 2003. In January 2006, he became head of bond strategy, a role in which he chairs the bond policy group responsible for SWIP’s economics and bond strategy. He joined Scottish Widows in 1989, qualifying as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries in 1992.

Gerhard Schleif - Bundesfinanzagentur

Gerhard Schleif commenced his role as the managing director of the German Federal Finance Agency in 2001. He was previously executive vice president of the trading and sales division at Deutsche Girozentrale - Deutsche Kommunalbank (later DekaBank). Before that he held a number of positions at BHF Bank in Frankfurt and New York, in the money market, foreign exchange, trading and treasury divisions. Schleif also spent 13 years as an editor at Verlag Handelsblatt.

Zeina Bignier - Societe Generale

Zeina Bignier is the head of sovereign, supranational and public agencies for European and international investment-grade issuers in Societe Generale’s debt origination department. Bignier joined SG’s capital market department in March 1995 as a relationship manager in charge of public and private sector issuers before commencing her current role in August 2000.

Ziad Awad - Goldman Sachs

Ziad Awad has been co-head of European syndicate at Goldman Sachs since 2001 where his focus has been on sovereigns, supranationals, agencies and covered bonds. Prior to that, he ran the Euro sovereign trading desk, having traded long-dated European Government bonds since 1994 in French francs, Belgian francs and ECU.

Ralph Berlowitz - Deutsche Bank

Ralph Berlowitz is managing director and head of liquid credits on Deutsche Bank’s European syndicate desk. He oversees the new-issue business for sovereigns, agencies and supranational borrowers, as well as sub-sovereigns, municipalities and covered bond issuers. Berlowitz joined Deutsche Bank in 1992 where he started his career in OTC derivatives sales after he received a degree in Finance and Economics at the University of Cologne in Germany. He has been part of the European debt syndicate team since 1996.
