Laurent Frings
Aberdeen Asset Management
Laurent Frings is co-head of EMEA credit research at Aberdeen Asset Management, responsible for overseeing credit research for EMEA portfolios. He joined Aberdeen following the SWIP acquisition in April 2014. At SWIP, Frings was head of credit research in the fixed-income team and covered the banking sector. He joined SWIP from Morley Fund Management, where he worked as a credit analyst for more than five years.

Steven Penketh
Barclays
Steven Penketh is head of the capital markets execution and structural reform team within Barclays Treasury, responsible for execution of Barclays Bank’s capital and term funding strategy. He moved to Barclays Treasury in January 2009 having previously worked in the group’s investment banking division which he joined in 2005.

Sandeep Agarwal
Credit Suisse
Sandeep Agarwal is co-head of the EMEA Global Markets Solutions Group (GMSG) at Credit Suisse and head of EMEA DCM. GMSG encompasses the full suite of the bank’s financing products including ECM, DCM, leveraged finance, debt and equity derivatives and related financing businesses. Agarwal joined CSFB in 2001 and has specialised in FIG coverage for many years. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, he worked at Deutsche Bank and Unilever.

Gerald Podobnik
Deutsche Bank
Gerald Podobnik is global head of capital solutions and head of FIG capital markets and treasury solutions Germany at Deutsche Bank. He is responsible for regulatory and rating agency optimised capital measures for banks and insurance companies globally. Key products are capital securities and regulatory advice under Basel III and IAIS ICS/Solvency II. Another focus is balance sheet management. Podobnik is also responsible for FIG capital markets business in the German speaking region.

Daniel Shore
HSBC
Daniel Shore has worked in banking for 30 years across IT, derivatives, equity-linked capital markets, and DCM. He is currently European head of FIG DCM at HSBC where he has worked for 14 years. Prior to joining HSBC, he worked at Credit Suisse Financial Products for 10 years advising clients on derivatives risk management before which he was at SE Banken for five years in IT.

Khalid Krim
Morgan Stanley
Khalid Krim is head of the European capital solutions team at Morgan Stanley, providing advice and solutions on hybrid capital and liability management to banks, insurance and corporate clients in EMEA. Krim has 17 years of investment banking experience. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2011 from Credit Suisse where he held a similar position. Prior to that, he worked at Deutsche Bank (1998-2001) and Barclays Capital (2001-2009) in capital structuring.

Michelle Brennan
S&P
Michelle Brennan is the European financial services criteria officer at Standard & Poor’s Rating Services where she works on the development and enhancement of rating methodologies, and acts as a key spokesperson on analytical and credit trend issues. She also chairs the New Instruments Criteria Committee. Brennan joined S&P in 1998, prior to which she worked as a consultant, specialising in regulation and public policy, and as an economist at the Central Bank of Ireland.

Paul Oates
UBS
Paul Oates is an executive director in UBS Investment Bank covering FIG rating advisory, where he provides rating advice to the bank’s clients. He has been in his current role since 2011. Prior to joining UBS, Oates worked in the ratings industry for 15 years and was previously both a senior credit officer in Moody’s financial institutions group and an insurance rating specialist for Standard & Poor’s.
