MOVES-RBC hires for leveraged finance, funding

RBC Capital Markets, the investment bank arm of Royal Bank of Canada, has hired Florent Cassabois from HSBC as head of leveraged finance in France, tasked with building its French business.

RBC said on Tuesday it has also hired David Brand from Morgan Stanley as a managing director in its central funding group in London.

Cassabois will be based in Paris in the newly created role, and report to Ed Dickinson, European head of leveraged finance, and Eric Meyer, head of France. Cassabois spent 13 years at HSBC, most recently as co-head of leveraged and acquisition finance for France. He previously worked for eight years at Barclays, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Brand spent 15 years at Morgan Stanley, most recently as global head of sales for bank resource management, the unit including securities lending, repo financing, and listed and OTC derivatives collateral businesses. He previously spent eight years at Deutsche Bank.
