IFR hosted a very belated 2020 awards event in London on September 8 in the courtyard of Haberdashers’ Hall.
The sun shone, the champagne flowed and attendees enjoyed the novelty of being at a public event for the first time in many months.
Just as importantly, thanks to the generosity of the banking and finance industry, £884,000 was raised for Save the Children.
IFR’s 2020 Bank of the Year Morgan Stanley led the way with a stunning donation of £600,000 – one of the highest individual donations in the history of the IFR Awards.
HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of Save the Children, presented the Bank of the Year trophy to Clare Woodman, the bank’s head of EMEA and CEO of Morgan Stanley International.
IFR would like to thank all those who donated to Save the Children. We are confident that it will do much good, especially given the events of the past year or two.
All being well, the awards event will revert to the traditional format of a gala dinner at Grosvenor House next year – but a garden party at Haberdashers’ Hall made for a refreshing change.
