Neeraj Chugh and Rick Mackesy have joined KeyBanc Capital Markets as managing directors in New York. Chugh will focus on consumer services within consumer and retail investment banking and Mackesy will be working in the industrial and business services group, where he will lead advisory efforts for professional services. Chugh has joined from Canaccord Genuity Sawaya Partners and previously worked at Piper Sandler and UBS. Mackesy has joined from Jefferies and previously worked at Morgan Stanley and Bank of America.
Robert Engelhardt has joined William Blair in its technology-enabled services team to provide advice to companies and financial sponsors in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland region, and across Europe. He is based in Frankfurt. William Blair said it continues to invest in Europe and tech-enabled services after a record year for its work in the sector in Europe in 2025. Engelhardt joined from Harris Williams, where he worked for six years in Frankfurt, after previous spells at DC Advisory and Sigma Corporate Finance.
UBS has appointed Nigel Howells as global head of the financial institutions group for debt capital markets. He continues to run FIG DCM for EMEA and will report to Barry Donlon, global head of DCM. Howells joined UBS from Deutsche Bank in 2014.
Financial sponsors banker Kaan Kesedar has joined Evercore as a senior managing director, based in London. Kesedar has joined from Citigroup, where he started in 2015 after working at Credit Suisse.
Alvarez & Marsal has hired Dean James and Nilufar Fowler in London to tap into corporate finance opportunities for live music and entertainment firms. James joins as a managing director and Fowler as senior director and they will focus on M&A, private capital raising and strategic advisory, and help with sponsorships and partnerships. They joined after co-founding Samba Group, a music marketing services firm. James previously co-led live music firms Mean Fiddler and Mama Group and worked for seven years in M&A at Inchcape.
Australian investment bank Jarden has hired Adam Reid from Gresham Advisory Partners as head of resources as it expands into resources sector advisory coverage. Jarden also hired Clarence Fok, Kevin Tian and Samuel Potts from Gresham.
David Leech has been promoted to global head of FX trading at ING. He replaces Gary Prince, who will remain at the bank as head of wholesale banking financial markets for EMEA. Leech joined ING in 2016 after stints at Morgan Stanley, UBS, RBS and ABN AMRO.
Houlihan Lokey has hired Geraud Estrangin as a managing director in its industrials group, focusing on aerospace and defence. He will be based in Paris and joins from Lincoln International, which he co-founded in 2006 after working at BNP Paribas and HSBC.
Barclays has hired veteran Societe Generale banker Jean-Francois Mazure as head of financial institutions and nonbank payment service providers. Mazure will be based in Frankfurt and will join in February. He spent 32 years at SG and was global head of cash clearing.
Nomura has hired Benjamin Moureaux as head of financial sponsors for France. He joins as a managing director from HSBC, where he worked for nine years in its M&A team and then oversaw financial sponsors coverage in France. He also worked at Credit Suisse.
Former HSBC banker Sameer Khan has joined NatWest Markets as a director in its leveraged finance capital markets team. Khan spent more than a decade at HSBC, working in leveraged and acquisition finance, after seven years at PwC.
Berenberg has appointed Bastian Schiedat as head of investment banking for continental Europe. Schiedat has been head of equity syndicate since 2017 covering continental Europe from Frankfurt and will continue in that role.
David Lau, chairman of Asia Pacific technology investment banking at Morgan Stanley, has retired from the bank, sources said. Hong Kong-based Lau joined Morgan Stanley in 2011 from Barclays and previously worked at Citigroup.
Alternative credit specialist Serone Capital Management has named Erika Morris and Wes Seifer as co-heads of US performing credit in a push to advance the firm’s expansion into the North American credit market. Morris and Seifer will focus on establishing and managing Serone’s US performing credit business, which will be integrated with its London-based credit business. They will be based in New York and joined from Tikehau Capital, where they spent six years building its US CLO platform.
Mid-market fund manager All Seas Capital has appointed Dominik Simler as a senior adviser to strengthen its investment team. The firm also recently hired Frederic Chiche as head of France. Simler was a partner and head of DACH at L-GAM Advisors. All Seas Capital, founded in 2019, focuses on mid-market businesses and invests a combination of debt and equity. The team is led by Marc Ciancimino and Cristobal Cuart, who co-founded and led KKR's European mezzanine and preferred equity business.
Former HSBC chairman Mark Tucker is staying at the bank in a special role as an adviser for longer than previously planned, Bloomberg reported. It said Tucker's contract has been extended and he will continue to advise the CEO and the board on specific matters. Tucker stepped down as chairman at the end of September and HSBC had signalled that he would fully exit when a permanent chair was appointed. Brendan Nelson was interim chair when Tucker left and was named permanent chair in December.
Law firm Dechert has hired David Marcinkus as a partner in its financial services group, adding to the firm's permanent capital and private credit practice. Based in Washington, DC, Marcinkus advises fund managers and financial institutions on regulatory and compliance matters.
Permira Credit has hired Sam Joyner as an executive director for its direct lending team, based in London. Joyner previously spent 11 years in RBC's leveraged finance team.
Citigroup has appointed Jessica Rowe as director of spread products syndication for Australia and Asia Pacific. She joins after 10 years at National Australia Bank, where she ran the syndication desk in London. Citi also hired Dane Harris from Commonwealth Bank of Australia for its Australian dollar debt syndicate team.
Citigroup's head of South Korea ECM Joseph Kwon will expand his responsibilities to include equity-linked for Asia Pacific excluding Greater China. Kwon joined the bank in 2007 and has led the South Korea ECM franchise for the past few years.
Credit Agricole has appointed Yang Zhang as head of cash and trade sales for financial institutions for Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, she will oversee business development and origination of cash management, cash clearing and trade finance solutions for financial institutions.
Aaron Chow has left Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, where he was managing director and general manager for the Asia Pacific loan capital markets. He was responsible for SMBC’s syndicated loans and agency functions and relocated to Hong Kong in 2024.
Loan market veteran Kong Chiu Tham has left Mizuho Bank, where he was head of loan capital markets for South and South-East Asia. Based in Singapore, Tham had spent more than 12 years with Mizuho and previously worked at Deutsche Bank.
