Credit Suisse has hired Philippe Guez as head of wealth management investment banking advisory for France, part of the unit created in 2020 to harness investment banking mid-market capabilities and wealth advisory.
Guez joins from Atlas Financial Solutions, where he was the partner for M&A advisory for small and mid-cap firms. Credit Suisse said his appointment is key to establishing WM IBA in France and targeting entrepreneurial clients, according to a memo to staff seen by IFR.
Guez spent eight years at Atfis and before that spent nine years at independent M&A advisory firm Baycap, which he founded. He also spent six years at Merrill Lynch in Paris, where he headed M&A for France, and five years at Deutsche Bank, according to his profile on LinkedIn.
He reports to Vincenzo De Falco and Stefan Gratzer, co-heads of WM IBA Europe, and locally to Valerie Landon, CEO for France and Belgium.
