Citigroup has hired credit trader Geoffrey Carbonel from Bank of America to cover European corporates, according to sources.
Carbonel will join Citigroup in Paris in September as a director. His LinkedIn profile shows he had been at Bank of America since October 2021, having previously worked at Credit Agricole, Origin Markets, Morgan Stanley and BNP Paribas.
Bank of America's credit trading operations in Paris have seen other departures in recent weeks, with RBC swooping for Georgio Gregoriou and Sofiane Bouchouicha to build out its subordinated financials offering.
